Meet Patrice
Patrice Calhoun is an outgoing, ambitious entrepreneur, mom of four beautiful children, and dreamer who has always loved to serve expecting mothers through their pregnancy journey. Patrice has over two decades of serving people in many different capacity's and now serving in her true passion as a Doula. As the founder and CEO of Birth Her Way Doula services, Patrice specializes in giving Full-Spectrum Doula support to moms during pregnancy, labor/delivery, postpartum and more. Patrice obtained her certification from ProDoula as a Labor Doula and holds a National Black Doula Association (NBDA) membership. Her trainings/membership has crafted her skills and knowledge to serve you before, during and after your pregnancy.
Although she always wanted to serve as a Doula, it was during her fourth pregnancy that she decided to become a certified Doula. She became curious about why there were little to no options for women and became concerned at the death rate of black pregnant women throughout the US. Patrice began to research about birth and the birthing process. She was intrigued, not wanting to endure another C-section, but it was a little too late when she began to research. She searched for things that could increase her chances of a natural birth possible, but it pushed her to help other women.
